Comium pledges to fulfil its social responsibilities

Mr Amer Atwi, Managing Director of the newly established GSM company, Comium-Gambia, has reaffirmed his institution’s commitment to education in The Gambia, particularly girls education as part of its social responsibilities.

Mr Atwi, said Comium-Gambia is very much aware of its social responsibilities and will leave no stone unturned to fulfil their social resposibilities.

Atwi was speaking at the decoration ceremony of twenty gorgeous ladies, who warm-up for the second Edition of Face of Gambia 2007, which is scheduled for September 7, 2007, at the Kairaba Beach Hotel. The Face of Gambia 2007, is organised by the FABEC’s Promotions and the proceeds will be used to promote girls education in The Gambia.

The Managing Director of the GSM Operator said they decided to associate themselves with the Face of Gambia initiative, simply because it’s geared towards promoting girls education in The Gambia.

“Comium believes that every child has a right to education and we will not hesitate to associate ourselves with such a laudable initiative that’s geared towards promoting girls education. This is just a small gesture and Comium-Gambia will continue to help in promoting, not only education, but also other development areas, in a bid to achieve sustainable development.”

For her part, Mrs Fatima Jabbie-Soley, the organiser of Face of the Gambia 2007, poured praises on Comium for answering to her call and with avidity.

“I want to thank Comium for elevating me and answering to my call without any hesitation. I wish every institution is like Comium, who has shown a total commitment towards the promotion of education in the country, particularly girls’ education,” she said.

Mrs Jabbie-Soley also thanked the twenty participants for their cooperation and urged them to always believe in themselves in whatever they do.

Saturday’s decoration ceremony was chaired by Fatim Badjie, a staff of Comium-Gambia.
