GVBA Reveals Action Plan

As part of efforts towards the promotion of sports particularly volleyball in the country, The Gambia Volleyball Association has revealed its plan of action for 2008.

The plan, expected to run throughout the year, covers areas like the national volleyball league, zone II member meeting of technical and referees committees, Olympic course on Volleyball coaches level two and international events such as conferences and training.

The Gambia Volley ball Association action plan also features the 10th African Volleyball Youth Championship to be held in Libya come August 2008, the zonal championship in September, VCP course on Referees, Tourism week and finally the annual congress slated for December 2008.

Speaking to Pointsport yesterday, Mr Musa Casa Taal, President of The Gambia Volleyball Association underscored the importance of the National volleyball league and called on all clubs to come and register for this year’s national volleyball league.

According to Mr Taal, not withstanding the Associations failure to stage last year’s league due to the lack of response from clubs, the association is coming with full force to implement its activities for the year.

He also used the occasion to announce that the ordinary session of the Association will take place on 2nd February 2008.
