YOUNG OBSERVER-Riddles, Do not accompany a liar

Friday, January 11, 2008
Two friends went out to hunt in the morning.  Each one of them carried his weapon on his shoulder. The two friends walked until noon.  Then they sat down to rest under a tree.  One of them talked about his courage for some time.

He said that he is never afraid. Suddenly a big bear came on to them.  The  “courageous” hunter ran away immediately, and climbed up a high tree.  The other hunter remained in his place pretending to be death.

The bear does not eat the dead.  The bear walked to the hunter and went around him sniffing at him.  After a while it left and went away.  The first hunter climbed down the tree.  He asked his friend, “what did the bear say to you?  The other hunter said, “the bear advised me and said: Do not accompany a liar.”
