Omar Ndow’s case deferred

Tuesday, January 22, 2008
Further hearing of the trial of the former managing director of the Gambia Telecommunications Company (GAMTEL) Limited could not proceed yesterday due to the absence of the defence counsel, Sheriff Tambadou.

When the case was brought up for hearing, ASP Bojang, prosecution officer representing the Inspector General of Police (IGP), told the court that Defence Counsel Sheriff Tambadou informed him that he (Tambadou) had travelled to Dakar, Senegal.

ASP Bojang further informed the court that he could not proceed with the case, as the defence were yet to complete their evidence in-chief.

He therefore appealed to the court to give a short date of adjournment to the defence for them to complete their evidence.

The principal magistrate therefore adjourned the case to 22 January, 2008, for continuation.
