Scholar Donates Needy Children

Special Charity Helping Ordinary Peoples in The Gambia through Local Aid and Resources known as Scholar a registered charity in the Gambia recently handed over items to 31 of their sponsored children in the country.

The ceremony held at YMCA hall along MDI road in Kanifing witness the presentation of school uniforms, 28 bags of rice, learning materials, payment of school fees for the sponsored children and medical support.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Andrew Kallon Country Representative of the organisation said that the main objective of the project is to help Gambian people in improving their lives. He used the opportunity to extend appreciation to the government and people of the Gambia for creating an enabling environment for organisations like his to operate in the country.

According to him, Scholar is a brainchild of the late Micheal David Doublet a former VSO volunteer in the country. He reaffirmed his organisations commitment in complementing government’s efforts in the development of education sector.

He noted that protection of children is a priority to his charity.
