Jungle Tigers Crowned Champions in Tujereng Nawettan

Jungle Tigers were last Saturday crowned champions of the ECO- Bank sponsored Nawettan in Tujereng after they defeated their opponent Paulton by 4-3 in a post match penalty shoot out at the Tujereng football field.

The match was a very interesting encounter as both teams were eager to win and they struggled at all levels but luck was not on the side of Paulton.

The final was full of fanfare as the communities were cheering on their teams.

At the end of the final, which was attended by high profile dignitaries, Jungle Tigers were awarded a trophy and a cash prize of D4000 while the runners up Paulton received a cash prize of D3000.

In another development, the Inspector General of Police Essa Badjie, who was also present at the final, donated D1,500 to Old Hands team for their participation during the occasion. In the same vein he again donated D1000 to the organising committee of the Nawettan for conducting a trouble-free Nawettan.

Speaking on behalf of the organising committee of the Nawettan, the chairman of the Tujereng Sports Committee, Inspector Bai Essa Jawara, commended ECO- BANK for the sponsorship package they offered to his committee.

He also thanked IGP Badjie for the timely and surprising donation noting that for the IGP sports is in his heart and the community of Tujereng really appreciate his move.
