Tabora Manneh Sacked, Bakary Nano Sonko Takes Over

Bakary Nano Sonko of Essau village has been appointed as the acting chief of Lower Niumi District, a news release from the Department of State for Local Government, Lands and Religious Affairs says yesterday.

The release, which was read over GRTS radio also indicated that Bakary Nana Sonko replaces Alhagie Tabora Manneh of Buniadu village whose services has been terminated with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, Tabora Manneh has been described as one of the longest serving chiefs in The Gambia.
