Football Coaches Association Set for Congress

Friday, February 15, 2008

After completing its four-year mandate, the current executive of The Gambia Football Coaches Association is wrapping up for congress, which is slated for March 9th, 2008.

As apart of preparations setting the stage for congress an Annual General Meeting will be staged on March 2nd 2008, a week before the congress.

Pa Suwareh Faye, President of The Gambia Football Coaches Association, said the AGM will give them the opportunity to review and make amendments on the constitution.

He said their four-year mandate was reached last December but due to some unfinished activity congress could not take place at the time.

He said congress and the election process will be democratic and called on all those interested in taking up positions to come forward.

He said all stakeholders concerned in sports development are expected to attend the congress.

It will be recalled that in 2003, Pa Suwareh Faye was elected President of the Association, Modou Demba Vice-president, Ebou Faye Secretary General and his Assistant Aruna Trawally.

Des Samba Mbenga was elected Treasurer and Mustapha Jammeh as Assistant Treasurer.
