Wednesday, March 26, 2008
Wallidan will hope to close in on current league leaders, Samger, when the two sides meet at the Serrekunda West today in the Week Eight fixtures of the national league season.

Samger have been the most impressive side since the start of the season. The Serrekunda East side cut a swathe through the domestic league, winning five fixtures in seven matches. They currently lead the table on sixteen points, four points ahead of Wallidan, who currently lie second best on twelve points.

A win for City Boys in today’s tie will see them close the gap between Samger to only one point.

However, Wallidan know they will have to sweat if they are to get anything from the keenly anticipated bout.

On the same, Hawks will return to action after their 2-0 battering of Gamtel on Sunday, when they take on Steve Biko at the Independence Stadium.

Today’s final tie will see the struggling Gamtel side square-up against Sait Matty-Africell at the at the Serrekunda East Mini-stadium.

On Thursday, Interior and Bakau United will face each other in what is seen as a clash of strugglers. Both sides are yet to find a good footing in the season as they all look for their first win of the season.

On the same day, another strugglers, Sea View, will take on Real de Banjul at the Independence Stadium, whilst Ports Authority and Armed Forces battle it out at the Serrekunda West Mini-stadium.
