Editor,
I have been a detached observer closely monitoring what is happening in The Gambia. I have been reading the newspapers and talking to my fellow countrymen about the current state of affairs in the country. Even though it is a mixed bag of reactions across the political divide, yes there are bound to be critics, but the bottom line is one should be candid enough to admit the truth. The point I am making is that this country is blessed with a leader, an individual who is on a mission to take the country where it has never been, to make The Gambian proud and beat one's chest and say 'yes I'm proud of my country and my leader'.
I am putting pen to paper to set the record straight. Let me emphatically say that often times we accuse [peoples] falsely because in most cases, we don't know them. I used to be a critic, but not now because I have been silenced by the truth and have little things to say.
I know more than ever before why the western press enjoy vilifying him, I know why the 'western establishment and their powerful allies' don't like him, I know why some African leaders are jealous and jittery when he's associated with great things. Here is a man who at his age, with his [ basic] high school diploma and millitary training is on top of the World doing great things. Yet this man has never set his foot outside the country to search for education or western education, but he knows the world by his finger tips.
Let us join hands and help the man to lead the country to greater glory. Please Mr. editor promise me that you will publish this article so that I can keep in touch with my folks in The Gambia.

Editor’s Note:
Here at the patriotic Daily Observer we second your emotions. Facts are facts and those with eyes to see can see for themselves. The Gambia is a truly developing nation and the man Jammeh is truly admirable. If this is not the truth we would not be sitting here praising him.
