As the Brikama Magistrates’ Court continues to gather more evidence in the ongoing trial involving Alhagie Badjie and the Inspector General of Police, the prosecution last week called in yet another witness who claimed to be an eyewitness to the harrowing scenes in the crash area.
According to Oustass Ensa Saidy, he was in his home at Serekundanding on January 13, when he heard a deafening noise from the main road.
‘I then decided to go to the scene to inquire. On reaching the main road, I saw a number of dead bodies whilst a truck was parked on the roadside. Eight people were killed on the spot with several injured. The majority of the dead-Maimuna Saidy, Lamin Manga, Alieu Ceesay, Lamin Sanneh, Malang Camara, Adama Camara and Fatou Camara-were my students,’ recounted Oustass Saidy.
At that juncture, the case, presided over by magistrate John Njie, was adjourned for continuation.
