VP Njie Saidy Meet Gambian Students in Taiwan

Barley a few hours after her arrival in Taiwan, the Vice President Dr. Isatou Njie Saidy had a meeting with the Gambian students in the Asian country.

Addressing the students, the Vice President advised them to take their learning seriously. She reminded them that as youths the development of the country lies in their hands. She that President Jammeh has done enough by sending them to Taiwan to further their studies. She challenged them to work hard while in Taiwan. Madam Saidy also advised the students to always unite and assured them of the governments support.

For his part, the Permanent Secretary at the office of the president, Njugu Bah, hailed the performance of the first group of Gambian students in Taiwan.

Mawdo Juwara Gambia’s ambassador in Taiwan commended President Jammeh for being very supportive of the students.

Meanwhile, reports monitored by The Point further revealed that the Vice President also had an audience with the outgoing Taiwanese president Chen Shu bia over the weekend. The meeting focussed on the bilateral relationship between the two countries. Speaking on the occasion Chen thanked The Gambia for been very supportive to Taiwan thus helping her to gain more allies.

The Vice President also hailed Taiwan for helping The Gambia.

They both gave assurances that they would play their part in cementing the Taipei/Banjul relationship.

Meanwhile, the Vice President and delegation, upon arrival in Taiwan, were received at the airport by the Vice Foreign Minister of Taiwan, the former Taiwanese Ambassador to The Gambia Dr. Patrick Chang and the Gambian Ambassador in Taiwan.
