After being remanded in police custody for almost three months, one Saidou Momodou Cham has now been granted bail and could in the meantime enjoy his liberty as his trial gets underway.
Saidou was on Monday granted bail at the tune of D70,000 for ‘attempting’ to commit murder. He must also get a Gambian as surety and the potential surety must surrender his/her ID card to the court.
Mr Cham is alleged to have, on 11 June 2007 in Kotu, attempted to kill one Samba Bah by attacking him with a cutlass with intention to chop him off.
He is expected back in court exactly a year when the alleged offence was committed.
