Daily Observer donates to book publisher

The Management of the Daily Observer company has responded to the plea of Malick Nyan, a young Gambian writer, for the publication of a book entitled The Gambia Dates and Events.

The Daily Observer has presented a cheque amounting to D8,000 to Nyan as financial assistance for the publication of his book. The company also presented one hundred copies of the books to Mr. Nyan.

Speaking in an interview with these reporters shortly after receiving the cheque from the management, Nyan expressed gratitude to the management of the Daily Observer for what he described as an invaluable gesture.

This, he said, will go a long way in helping him realise his dreams and aspirations as a writer.

According to Mr. Nyan, his ambition is to publish three more books in the future. He, however, noted that without the support of the people, this would not be a reality.

He went further to call on philanthropists, Government, individuals and Non-Governmental Organisations to lend him a helping hand in order to publish his three other books.
