Felicitation message from the young people of The Gambia

On the 30th anniversary on the re-unification of the two Cameroons.

The Gambian citizens specifically the young people under my representation at the Commonwealth Youth Caucus wishe to extend heart felt felicitations to the government and people of Cameroon on the 30th Anniversary of the Re-Unification of the two Cameroons.

Regarding re-unification as a process that promotes peace, tranquillity and developmen, the re-unification course of Cameroon was a democratic struggle thrived by its people and heroes – fruits of which are today being largely enjoyed by Cameroon through equaliity, mutual tolerance and development. This has resulted in divergent policy and appropriate development initiatives which are internationally reckoned accross sovereign jurisdictions for the government and people of Cameroon.

However, we interestingly believe, the fruits for such toils in the re-unification process would be used to feed   the youths and people of Cameroon through policy and rewarding programmes that seek to involve their full and effective participation in both its governance processes. This should be contextualised within a philosophical framework, which has expressed a commitment to values such as youth empowerment, democratic inclusions, and social development thus being characterised as marking a departure away from a traditional approach which had previously seen youth development work as being social welfarist or remedial in orientation.

The Gambian Youths further pray to the Good Lord to grant the government and people of Cameroon, the eternal strength, knowledge and skill to sustain such a democratic process in its bid for development initiatives.

While felicitating the government and people of Cameroon once again on behalf of the Gambian Youths, kindly accept felicitation of our highest youth constituency considerations under the auspices of the Gambian Youth fanatic – His Excellency Dr. Alhagie Yahya A.
