Gunjur Resident Found Guilty of Cattle Rustling

Muhammed Mustapha Kandeh, a resident of Gunjur village in Kombo South, has been found guilty by the Brikama Magistrates’ Court on charges of cattle rustling.

Kandeh was earlier on arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court charged with stealing contrary to Section 252 of the Criminal Code, Cap.10, Vol.III of the Laws of the land.

The details of the case had it that Kandeh, sometime this year, stole a head of cattle worth D1500 from a certain Baboucarr Suwareh. He was, upon his culpability for the crime, sentenced to pay a fine of D1000 in default to serve six months in jail. Besides, Kandeh was also ordered to compensate Suwareh with D1000 or else…
