Please allow me space in your widely read newspaper to alert the officials of the National Environment Agency (NEA).
As we have started experiencing the rainy season, a lot of attention should be put on the environment and cleanliness.
The National Environment Agency should start a door-to-door campaign, to sensitize the general public on the dangers and threats that a dirty environment can pose to our lives.
Even though people use to clean their environment or compounds, it is also at this time of the year that some people will create waterways around their homes, which, if not properly taken care of can be a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
This can cause malaria, it can also bring flies that will contaminate our food etc.
I am also proposing that bins be placed on street corners, compounds, market places and work places etc to reduce littering.
It’s a challenge for NEA and the local government authorities, so take it up.
