Spanish Philanthropist Donates to Health Centres

A Spanish philanthropist recently paid a short courtesy visit to the village of Njaba Kunda in the North Bank Region . During the visit Mr. Luis made generous gift of €16,000 to Njaba Kunda Health Centre (D528,000).

He urged the beneficiaries to take proper care of the money and put it to good use. Mr. Luis pledged to the board members that if they use the money properly it will last until December when he will pump more money into the project.

The money was presented to the board chairman Barry Jaiteh. He assured the villagers that the money will be safe and secure and will be put to good use. He further told the gathering that the health centre is in need of urgent help as it is facing a drug shortage. According to him the centre serves between 800 and 1,000 patients.

Mr. Nfamara Kanteh deputised for the Alkalo and welcomed the gift with open arms, thanking the donor for his generosity. According to the deputy Alkalo there can be no life without health.
