The coastal boys and girls of the Gunjur Young Farmers Club recently celebrated their 6th anniversary in Gunjur Village in Kombo South.
Speaking at the occasion, the chairperson of the club, Ousman Kah Bajo, said it was a day of joy and thanksgiving to Almighty Allah for granting them life and health to grace the occasion. He also said it was a day of record and a chance for them to analyse their progress and setbacks.
Mr. Bajo, in relation to the progress, said that the club is able to assist members in solving their personal problems ranging from health to academia and sports. He added that from July 26th 2007 to July 26th 2008 was a very successful year and congratulated members on their tireless efforts in contributing to the club.
For her part, Ms Fatou Jammeh, the vice-chairperson of the club, said that she was full of happiness and joy on what was a great day for the young farmers. She called on her fellow girls to join the group like those in Sukuta Kombo North did.
Mrs. Ida Darboe, in giving the vote of thanks, used the opportunity to thank Mr. Fammara Bojang and Sulayman Jabang for their support and encouragement to the club. She finally called on the public to support the young farmers in what she called a “genuine course”.
