Gambian striker Omar OJ Krumah who has recently signed a contract with Premier League side Portsmouth looks set to join Championship side Norwich City on a loan deal reports monitored on  the Western Daily Press have revealed.

The 18-year old former Banjul Hawks striker became the first Gambian to sign  contract with English Premier League club in Portsmouth.

However, it is now understood that Harry Redknapp, who rates the player highly wants him to get experience in the Championship rather than League 1.

Krumah has been on trial with Portsmouth this summer, and certainly ticks the impressive pre-season friendly box having won Pompey a penalty in the 1-1 draw against Exeter and creating two goals at Swindon.

Speaking to The News last week, Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp said: "OJ has done well, he is only 18 and I think he is a real prospect.

"I have already had half a dozen clubs wanting to play him this season, most of them are from the Championship.

"He is not ready for the Premier League but he is still young so his time can come."

Norwich City play in the Football League Championship (second tier of the English football pyramid).

They were founder members of the Premier League in 1991–92, and played in its first three seasons reaching the UEFA Cup 3rd Round, returning for one season in 2004–05. They first won promotion to the Football League First Division in 1972, and have played a total of 18 seasons in the top flight, with a longest continuous spell of nine seasons. Norwich have won the League Cup twice, in 1962 and 1985.
