A 1-0 win over Flamemins on Saturday has earned them the qualification for the first division outfit after four years of absence. They will now join second division leaders Brikama in the 2008/9 Gambia Football Association league.
Reacting to the development, Alhagie Jandi team manager of Talliding United commended all players and the technical team for working hard to ensure that they have booked their second qualification to the First Division.
He said, “I want to commend my coach Alhagie Nyassi for his determination, which ensured that we achieved our goal. Now that we have gained qualification to the First Division, we will make sure that will avoid relegation as in our first time of appearing in the 2002/03 Gambia Football Association football season.”
Flamemins, at 18 points, are surely going to face relegation after losing to Talliding over the weekend. They will join bottom place Starlight who are with 12 points.
Ham Ham now finishes third with 30 points after beating Serekunda East 3-0 on Saturday.
Nema United drew 1-1 with Y/Africans, climbing a step up and levelling points with Serrekunda East at 27.
