Reports reaching the Young Observer desk indicate that Lamin F. Bojang, the speaker of the National Youth Parliament (NYP), recently left Gambian soil to attend the 5th annual youth assembly at the United Nations headquarters in New york, scheduled from the 11th-15th August, 2008.

The annual youth assembly is meant for youth leaders around the world, to educate young people about the United Nations, its current affairs and the way youths can be involved in building a peaceful world.

The theme for this year’s conference is; “Tomorrow’s leaders today”.
The NYP speaker who is representing The Gambia’s Youth Parliament, is expected back on August 22nd, 2008.
