Scottish Premier League giants, Motherwell FC, have ended their interest in Gambian Seyfo Soley - because the club felt the huge Scorpions defender was far too laid back, Observer Sports has gathered.
Motherwell head coach, Mark McGhee, had looked at Soley in training for a fortnight and gave him a run-out in their emphatic 4-0 win over Bradford last week.
The 27-year-old former Hawks FC, Lokeren, Al-Hilal, Genk and Preston defender came to Scotland highly recommended after playing for a season in the Coca Cola Championship with Preston.
But coach McGhee was unimpressed with his performance during the two-week trial and has told the player he is free to find another club.
He told Motherwell club website: "The centre half we had on trial (Seyfo Soley) was just a bit too laid back. He did not seem interested in getting up to our pace in training.” The departure of Soley is disappointing for McGhee who had hoped to bring in another central defender as cover for first-choice pairing Stephen Craigan and Mark Reynolds ahead of their Uefa Cup play-offs.
