The Banjul Sports Committee (BSC) will again postpone this year’s Nawettan until after the holy month of Ramadan Pointsports has been reliably informed.
In a press release issued to Pointsports, the sectary general of the Banjul Sports Committee, Mr. Ebou Faye, said, “there will be a break from the Western Union sponsored league during the month of Ramadan. As past Nawettan’s have shown that it is not only exhaustive but expensive as well. The Nawettan will be adjourned until after Ramadaan and will probably resume on Friday 3rd of October 2008 depending on when Koriteh is observed.”
According to Mr. Faye, the balloting of the first round Sports House knock-out trophy will be held today 29th August 2008, at The Gambia High School after the first match and all team’s representative are urged to attend.
Meanwhile in another development, Fila Yombeh Vous will sponsor the Best Coach Award in order to encourage the young Banjul coaches. “This is a welcome gesture as it will motivate and inspire the young coaches to work hard and be much more dedicated.” In conclusion he said, “the Banjul Sports Committee wishes you in advance a peaceful and blessed Ramadaan let the Almighty Allah guide and protect us and enable us to perform the Ramadaan with good health and prosperity.”
