The acting editor-in-chief of The Daily Observer newspaper, Ebrima Manneh, has taken up appointment at the United States Embassy in Banjul, as Political and Economic Assistant. His duties will include research and report writing on a variety of political, economic and commercial issues.
Mr. Manneh has a colorful background in journalism. He undertook an advanced training program in journalism jointly conducted by the AfricanVirtualUniversity, in Kenya, and the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, in the United States, as well as other training programs in communications, leadership, conflict resolution, human rights and management. He also has a wealth of experience in the dynamics of community service, especially in youth development work.
As the former head of The Daily Observer’s Editorial Department, Mr. Manneh’s six-year stay with the paper has enabled him to enhance his understanding of the country’s political, economic and social issues.
