Holland second division club, MVV (Maastrichtse Voetbal Vereniging), have signed Gambian international winger Ebou Sillah on a permanent deal, Observer Sports can reveal. Sillah signed a two-year contract from the Belgian first division giants FC Brussels.
Brussel had loaned the 28-year-old diminutive winger to MVV last season. However, after an impressive debut season in the Dutch second tier, MVV decided to negotiate for a permanent deal.
“MVV have taken over Ebou Sillah from FC Brussels. Sillah was on loan from Belgium Jupiter League last season. Both teams were negotiating for weeks to turn his loan into a permanent deal, and finally an agreement has been reached,” revealed a statement pasted on the MVV website.
Ebou Sillah is currently the longest serving player in the Scorpion squad.
Since he was handed the Scorpions armband from the out-of-favour Jatto Ceesay, the diminutive former Real de Banjul, Blankenberge (Belgium), Club Brugge (Belgium), Harelbeke (Belgium), Roosendaal (Netherlands) Rubin Kazan (Russia), FC Brussels (Belgium) Hapoel Petah Tikva FC (Israel) forward has been the main source of inspiration in the Scorpions line-up.
As Gambia prepare to face arch rivals, Senegal, in the final match of the 2010 joint World Cup and Nations Cup qualifiers, Sillah will be one player who will be closely watched by the opponents - due to his depth of experience.
