St. Vincent De Society Clocks 40

St. Vincent de Paul Society, a charitable organisation that caters for the poor of society and belonging to the Catholic Mission worldwide, is celebrating its 40thanniversary to be marked by several activities.

According to the National Council of the Gambia, for St. Vincent de Paul Society, their theme of the celebration is, “Justice and Charity, essential ingredients to Vincentians Service.” The celebration is said to start from 27thSeptember 2008, with health awareness seminar and a Holy Mass on September 28that the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption.

The National Council says, “The official opening ceremony will start on Monday, September 29th, 2008.

The theme will be dealt with by Rev. Fr. David Jarju, the Vicar General at the Gambia Pastoral Institute (GPI).

“The National Council’s executive is to meet with their overseas guests at GPI,” said Harriet M. Baldeh, the National President.
