The ongoing criminal trial involving six men, Ousman Darboe, Kebba Ceesay, Basiru Sanneh, Famara Camara, Alagie Alieu Jagne and Ensa Nyassi, on Monday resumed at the Kanifing Magistrates Court, presided over by the senior magistrate, Abdoulie Mbake.
The five men are facing charges of assault to which they have all pleaded not guilty. Giving his evidence-in-chief, the complainant, Ronaldo Delgreco, told the court that on the 23rd of February 2009 at Sun Beach, Bakau, he met the six men standing and greeted them.
He added that as he passed by them, they surrounded him and seriously beat him until he was rescued by one Lie Sanyang. He narrated that after been rescued, he sustained an injury and went to the police station and then to the RVTH where he was given medical treatment. Police Prosecutor 319 Jobe appeared for the IGP.
