A poem for President Jammeh

Sunday, February 1, 2009
With the tremendous achievements of our Gambian leader, Professor Dr. Alhaji Yahya A JJ Jammeh, since he took over this glamorous African nation, many have said so much good about him.

I personally have this to say from the depth of my heart.

In those days
When olden generations told of ‘paisa’
Hence forth hardship persists
Now a whirl wind of change blows
Tender generations enjoy countless peace
Harmonious days count down in steps
Thus smiles brighten the dark night
Those complaints now cease
Hopelessness now dashes away
Happiness now embraces hopeless hearts
Families wash away there forth
Peace affirms its talons on the land of Gambia
Creations and satisfaction come galore!
This land of small tribes
Yields strength and perfect prayers
Gambia engulfs all other black ‘dwell’
He believes in himself
For his heart guards and guide against evils.
For his hands washes angry hearts
For his hands stretches always
To smoothen poor hungry bellies
For his heart and hands are skilful in remedy
For his eyes and mind, far seeing instrument.
