Please allow me space to convey a piece of advice to the Department of State for Basic & Secondary Education to check all nursery and kindergarten schools throughout the country, to know the owners, coordinators, head teachers and managers of these schools.
The Education Department should make sure that all the nursery schools are controlled and coordinated by responsible and qualified people. Every citizen has the right to open schools, yes, but qualified people should run the schools.
If, for instance, everything had been done accordingly on the part of the Education Department, I think the recently concluded case of the former National Assembly member and the school coordinator could have been avoided. The Education Department should have all the details of all the schools in the country; the owners, managers, head teachers, bank accounts, yearly audit reports and every bit of information about the schools. Not every Tom, Dick and Harry can be a school coordinator or head teacher of a nursery school.
I also call on the Education Department to make sure that in the event of any future donations by the president or any other Good Samaritan like him to any school, such a school ought to provide evidence of bank statements and other necessary documents before receiving the donation. We thank the president for the support he is giving to students of the country. Thank You.
