The Secretary-General of the Association of Farmers Educators and Traders, Mr. Dawda Kujabi, has disclosed that his association has secured an amount of D4m from the Action-aid the
Mr. Kujabi, who was speaking in an interview with our reporter yesterday said his association has been engaging in facilitating the micro-finance credit groups and “KAFOs’ as well as individuals.
“This D4m would be used to buy serial seeds from the farmers at the time of harvest and will be giving back to the farmers with a low interest during rainy season when there is hunger”, he said.
According to him, the project is out to help farmers in eradicating poverty. He added that AFET also engaged farmers in skilful development like food processing, soap-making and tie-dye.
“We are also engaged in food security, seed and serial banking, vegetables and non- formal education adult literacy,” he stated.
Mr. Kujabi also commended Action-aid for providing the funds to fight against hunger in this country.
