Members of the Bundung Association for Disabled and their Children ( BADAC ) last Saturday adopted Dr Ancha Jagne Ceesay, a Gambian philanthropist based in the United Kingdom, as the association’s goodwill ambassador at the Kanifing Municipal Council hall.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Mayor of Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) and also a board member of BADAC, Yankuba Colley, commended Dr Jagne Ceesay for the support she has been giving to the physically disabled community in The Gambia. He noting that their association will closely work with her.

In his welcoming remarks at the occasion, the programme director of BADAC, Lamin Manneh, stated that for the past few years Dr. Jagne-Ceesay and her family have been supportive to the disable people in the country.

He urged others to emulate her gesture.

Dembo Darbo, co-ordinator of BADAC, said the aim of his association is to support the members of the association with their children adding that it is part of their plans to build a skills centre for their members if they get the necessary funds.

Mr. Darbo pointed that they also want to engage their members in small skills business.

He has assured the doctor that the new partnership between BADAC and her will yield fruit and thanked her for accepting to serve as goodwill ambassador of their association.

Delivering her speech at the ceremony, BADAC goodwill ambassador Dr Ancha Jagne Ceesay commended BADAC for nominating her to serve as their ambassador.

She has assured the association that they will have her support and that of her family.

Mrs. Pollen, a British National working with a disabled organisation in the UK and accompanying doctor in Banjul, said during their stay in Banjul they will meet members of the association to pave the way forward and to draw long term plans for BADAC.

The occasion was graced by the Imam Ratib of Banjul ALH Cherno Kah, KMC Councils and a Member of Parliament.
