Cattle Rustler Remanded

The Brikama Magistrates’ Court, presided over by Magistrate Pa Harry Jammeh, recently remanded in custody one Dodou Bojang of Brufut for cattle stealing.

According to the particulars of the offence, on 2nd December 2008 at Brufut Village and diverse places, the accused stole three sheep valued at D3,500 being the property of Omar Jatta and Samba Jallow.

When the charge sheet was read to him he pleaded guilty and was subsequently remanded until the 4th February 2009.

In a related development, one Yaya Jallow of Sinchu Sorry was also recently remanded in custody for wilful damage to property.

According to the particulars of the offence, on 9th January 2009 at Tabokoto, the accused Yaya Jallow wilfully and unlawfully damaged the front windscreen of a motor vehicle BJL 4362F being the property of one Modou Lamin Jawneh.

He pleaded guilty to the charge and was subsequently remanded in custody until 28th January 2009.
