The intervention of Chailey Newick Colts Gambia Support Group in the Faraba Lower Basic School has been a great success as it has led to the increment of the enrollment of students to the school, according to  Momodou Lamin Sey, headmaster of the Faraba Lower Basic School in Central River Region.

Headmaster Sey made this remark recently during a visit by the group to the school. The organisation is sponsoring the community vegetable garden of the village at a tune of hundred thousand dalasis as well as assisting over thirty students in seven schools in the region. Headmaster Sey said due to the intervention of the organisation in his school, enrollment has increased rapidly.

He explained that the charitable organisation is not only sponsoring students in his school but has also provided a vegetable garden for the community which will generate income for them. He called on both the students and parents to make the best use of the assistance and applauded the philanthropists for their generosity.

The chairman of the organisation, Simon Ramm, pointed out that his organisation is sponsoring over thirty students at different levels of education in the region.  He spoke at length on the importance of education in national development. He told the meeting that they are in the country to gauge the performance of their projects, which are being coordinated by their Gambian counterparts - Lamin Kuru Kongira and Sulayman Jallow.  He commended them for their fantastic achievements.

Lamin Kuru Kongira, one of the association’s coordinators in the country, advised the students and the community of Faraba to work hard for the sustainability of the projects. He then saluted Kathryn Haylett for initiating the organisation which is today benefitting so many Gambians.
