In yesterday’s edition, we ran a story on our Legal Matters column captioned: “In rape case, Magistrate rejects withdrawal application”.

In that story, it was reported that Lawyer Badou Conteh applied for a withdrawal of the rape case. We were informed later that Lawyer Badou Conteh didn’t apply for any withdrawal, instead, he had informed the court about the negotiations between the complainant’s father and the accused person’s mother to withdraw the case.

We apologise for that mistake. Any inconvenience is deeply regretted.
