Kaabully Nimaga, director general of the African Arts Collection, located on Sabunyima avenue opposite the LK Upper Basic School, Kairaba Avenue, has explained the role of culture and knowledge towards sustainable and effective development of any given society.

According to him, tradition and knowledge constitute the main pillars of development and sustenance of communities since time immemorial. “No society can progress in the absence of the two.  They make an individual to become a responsible and patriotic citizen,” said Kabully Nimaga, in a recent chat with Arts and Culture.

On his African Arts Collection programme, he said that Africans and the rest of the world will soon realise and benefit from his decade-long research work in the arts and culture of Africa and the world at large. He added that his project could be best described as the house of knowledge for people.
