Djurgarden interested in Azziz Corr Nyan

Media reports in Sweden suggest that Azziz Corr-Nyang, who scored the Gambia’s historic equalizer against Senegal in Dakar last October, may be on his way back to the former Allsvenskan champions Djurgården.

Azziz Corr Nyang was an enormous talent and was predicted to have a bright future when he played in Djurgården between 2002 and 2004. But success never came as quickly as expected and he had to leave for life in the second division with Assyriska.  Assyriska Chairman Sargon De Basso confirmed to Swedish papers on Friday that negotiation were underway “with an Allsvenskan club keen on signing Azziz”.  He declined to unveil the identity of the club after Djurgården refused to comment on the matter.

“I will not say anything more. All I can say is that it is an Allsvenskan club that is showing an interest in him and that negotiations have started” De Basso said.
Eurosport has also reported that Azziz has already trained with Djurgården.  The Assyriska chairman is confident of a deal during the current transfer window.

“There is no reason to believe that it is just a bubble that will disappear as quickly as it has come.  "This Allsvenskan club showing interest is seriously interested,” De Basso continued.
