This weekend all routes will lead to Ebotown Football Field when a grand final is expected to be played as first Noran tournament, organised by the Ebotown Youth and Sport Committee will reach its climax.
The final of the 2009 Ebotown Noran football championship tournament, however, is scheduled to take place on Sunday 21st June 2009.
The grand final will feature Black Pool FC and Tisibi FC in a final expected to be “a cracker and a pulsating encounter” between two teams that are very much hungry for title tilt.
The main objectives of organising the tourney was to improve, develop and promote grass root football in Ebo town and its surrounding areas, and to also foster unity and understanding among the youths of Ebotown.
At the end of the final, the team that emerge as the winners of the tourney will go home with a giant trophy and a cash prize of D5000, while the runners-up will receive 3,500 as the consolation prize.
The organising committee of the tournament is appealing to the fans of the two finalists to maintain discipline and tolerance during the final game.
The organising committee further revealed to this paper that plans were on the way to stage another tournament, which is expected to be sponsored by the Lord Mayor of KMC, Yankuba Colley in order to improve, develop and promote grass root football in Ebo-town and its surrounding.
