Ecobank Uganda Opens for Business

Brings bank’s country network to 26 in Africa.

The Ecobank Group increased its regional footprint on January 19th 2009 with the opening of its latest affiliate in Uganda.

Ecobank Uganda opened for business with six branches in and around Kampala on January 19th. The Uganda country affiliate brings to 26 the number of countries in Africa in which Ecobank operates. Ecobank is now consolidating much of its growth and expansion across middle Africa.

“We are pleased to open for business in Uganda today, and welcome the opportunity to extend our range of retail, wholesale and transaction banking services to customers in Uganda,” said Ecobank Uganda Managing Director Dele Alabi.

This latest addition to its network also introduces Ecobank’s new corporate logo, which the group begins rolling out this month.It marks a new phase in Ecobank’s development—one in which the bank intends to focus more on improving customer service, efficiency, productivity and performance.
