The security manager and coordinator of the Tour Guides at Sunbeach Hotel, has called for the emulation of the tourist guides in their active particpiation in the cleansing exercise that they conducted with their tour representative on February 28, 2009.

Gassama, who walked to the Daily Observer offices, commended President Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, whom he described as a real Pan-African leader for initiating the Operation Clean the Nation (OCN). He described the operations as a good move in which every Gambian should participate as it will greatly reduce health risks.

He called on Gambians to be participating in cleansing exercises, noting that tourists visiting the country have started taking part in the environmental sanitation. He then saluted the tourists and all tourist guides, who took part in the cleaning exercise of the beach and also the Cape Point Crafts Market highway. He described this move as historic in The Gambia saying ‘a healthy mind always live in a healthy in environment’. He welcomed the tourists to this lovely and tolerant Gambia with a lovely sunshine.

He also commended the Sunbeach tour guides for the service they rendered to the Bakau grave yard, Bakau Lower Basic School and also to the Bakau Central Mosque in cleaning those environment. He also thanked SoS for Tourism, GTA and the Sunbeach management for the support.
