Matthias Dicke, chairman of the Europa-Union Westerwald, has written a letter to the Gambian leader, Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh, conveying greetings and best wishes to him and the people of The Gambia. Dicke’s message reads:
Your Excellency,
Last month I got the opportunity to visit your beautiful country within the scope of a private journey. I really enjoyed the friendliness and helpfulness of the people during my stay.
The visit at the Gambian National Museum and the Albert Market have been very impressive to me. I am sure that this day will return to my mind for a long time.
Please accept, Your Excellency, my best wishes for your good health, longevity and well-being as well as for continued prosperity of your country and its citizens, with the assurances of my highest and respectful consideration.
Another letter addressed to the Gambian leader came from Aja Fatou Ceesay Hali of Lancaster Street in Banjul.
It reads:
I have the honour and pleasure most respectfully to address you this letter thanking and praying for you all the time. I am congratulating you for all the achievements done by you regarding empowering the women of The Gambia in the field of education, especially the University of The Gambia, the agricultural sector, infrastructure, just to name a few. The youths of the Gambia are also empowered.
May Allah the Almighty guide you in all your endeavours and may He continue to protect and guide you in the execution of your duties and protect you from your foes, give you long life and good health.
