Former GTA Boss’ Trial Fails to Proceed

The criminal trial involving the former Director General of Gambia Tourism Authority (GTA), Habib Drammeh, on Thursday 19th February 2009 failed to proceed at the Banjul High Court.

However, the case, which was scheduled for trial, could not proceed as the court did not sit, and was subsequently adjourned until 29th March 2009.

Mr Habib Drammeh, former Director General of Gambia Tourism Authority, is standing trial at the Banjul High Court on an 11 count indictment relating to giving false information and economic crimes.

He has since vehemently denied the charges.
