One Sang Gomez of Latirkunda German who is currently being hospitalised at the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH), was last Sunday attacked and seriously wounded, by one Ali Sowe.

Sources said Ali Sowe, who is said to be a former Police Officer has up till now not been arrested.

An eyewitness, Nyara Gomez, who is a cousin to the culprit, said Ali came from behind and cut Sang two times on the head, and two times on the hand with a cutlass. She said her shouts gave the alarm to the neighbourhood, who found Sang seriously bleeding.

According to Nyara, Sang, who is the father of her child, went into their compound on his way to a funeral.  She said she was the one who had invited him for lunch, and when he got into the compound he started cracking jokes as usual. She said to the surprise of all, Ali was heard saying abusive words, and Sang who is said to be a good associate of Ali went to him, not knowing that he was referring to him, to bring him back to calmness, but Ali confronted him that he heard him calling the name of his late grandfather, and that he should not have done so. She said as Sang turned to go back to where he was, Ali came out from his room and started chopping him with a cutlass.

However, efforts to talk to the Police PRO proved futile.
