Four Real De Banjul Players Return from Dakar

Four players from the GFA Division One giants Real De Banjul, namely Abdoulie Sanneh, Edrissa Jarra [Ronaldo], Ebrima Bojang and Vice captain Saikou Okocha Jawara last week returned home from Dakar where they participated in the Senegalese Second Division league championship with Ebrima Bojang’s Yegoo FC, following agreement between the two sides.

During their stay in Senegal, the Real DE Banjul stars proved themselves beyond all reasonable doubt, after netting in their first debut and caught the eyes of the club President, Abdoulie Touray, who expressed his desire to hold onto the Gambian stars.

Abdoulie Sanneh, Edrissa Jarra and Ebrima Bojang, according to Saikou Jawara, all managed to put their names on the score sheet in their first debut, despite playing only one game as a result of the late arrival of their contract document from their Banjul club.

The Gambian stars who left the country since 26th July spent two weeks of intensive training in Libertrere 6, before moving to Sacre Coure trawa in search of better accommodation Real De Banjul Vice Captain and left back Saikou Jawara told Pointsport at his residence in Bakau New Town yesterday.

Okocha who was also given the greenlight to make only one appearance in the Senegalese professional Second Division league, due to the delay of his contract document was part of the Real De Banjul players who helped Yegoo FC finished 3rd after spending the better part of the league struggling in 5th place.  

Know for his magnificent scoring ability and great eye for goal, Ebrima Bojang became the second top goal scorer in the Senegalese Professional Second Division league championship with a total of 5 goals to his name 2 adrift of the top scorer who registered 7th goals.
Saikou Jawara who spoke to our reporter explained some of the experiences he endured during his time with Yegoo FC.

He described his teammates and club officials as wonderful guys, whom he said, has given him some great experiences both on and off the pitch.
