Four solid goals from a Gambian side was enough to beat defending champions Liberia, Lone Stars in the second annual Minnesota African Soccer Tournament, hosted by African Vision 360.

The Gambia side fondly called the Scorpions, under the guidance of Coach Sulayman (Sol) Njie, assisted by Abdoulie Bojang outplayed and scored Liberia 3 - 0 during the first half.

Captain Ebrima (Saul) Janneh with the Gambian side increased the scores to 4- 1 at the end of the match.

The Minnesota Africa Cup which ended recently was played at Brooklyn Park and Minneapolis. The 2009 Cup featured African teams from Djibouti, Eritrea, Gambia, Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Somalia and Togo.

The Best sportsmanship award went to the Black Stars of Ghana; MVP of the tournament is Lamin B. Sambou (BIGA) of the Gambia who scored two goals in the final.

The tournament was also staged to celebrate African culture by highlighting its many contributions to the world, both past and present. Minnesota African Cup is an occasional historical event where countries and cultures come together to celebrate life through the common language of soccer.

The host of Minnesotan African Cup, African Vision 360, is set at connecting Africans as one community to help contribute and lead the world.
