Girl killed in love dispute

According to reliable information monitored by the Daily Observer,  the residents of London Corner  were recently shocked by a tragic case of death that resulted from a love affair.

A young girl, Ramatoulie Barry, resident in Serrekunda London Corner, was alleged to have been stabbed to death by another young girl, Kadijatou Jallow. Our sources told this reporter that the two ‘protagonists’ had the same boyfriend. They also disclosed that the incident occured in their boyfriend’s at about 2:00pm on Tuesday February, 4, 2009. The deceased (Ramatoulie Barry) was rushed to the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital in Banjul where she was pronounced dead a few hours later.

When contacted to shed light on the issue, ASP Sulayman Secka, public relations officer of the Gambia Police Force, confirmed the story. According to PRO Secka, the boyfriend of the two girls (the accused and the deceased) is currently at large but the police are searching for him. The police spokesman further revealed that Kadijatou Jallow, the accused, has since been arrested and is helping the police in their investigation. “She was charged with committing murder, contrary to Section 187 of the Criminal Code, laws of The Gambia.

She was arraigned at the Kanifing Magistrates court yesterday and was later remanded at the Mile 2 Central Prison,” ASP Secka revealed.
