I am a Gambian in Texas in the United States. please allow me to say something on the two people I read about on the Daily Observer online newspaper, who drowned at the Fajara Beach.

I think that this has been a problem for years, and it is high time it got a solution. Part of this solution could be continuous patrolling around the beach side by lifesavers during swimming hours.

As a patriotic and concerned Gambian, I will like to use this opportunity to ask the Gambia Government to provide well trained life savers and station them at all the beaches across the country to avoid tragic deaths like these.

Something needs to be done to avert this kind of horrible deaths. God bless The Gambia
