Hero Ousman Marong Hits the Winner for Hawks

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

Hawks Ousman Marongs’ 48th minute strike has won a rip-roaring contest for his team Hawks from a quick counter-attack that decided the match played at the Father Gough Sport Complex in Manjai.

Hawks, who have endured inconsistent moments in the league, have now moved away from the relegation zone with 17 points.

The Bakau giants conceded the only goal of the game as a result of crucial mistakes at the back allowing Ousman Marong to win maximum points for the red-devils.

Assan Jatta, Abdoulie Jatta, Alasan Camara and Lamin Samateh were among the stars in Biko’s squad but could not help to rescue the 2001 FA Cup winners from the hands of the red devils. The results sees Biko sit in the middle of the league ranking.

Speaking to reporters shortly after the game, the head coach of defeated Biko, Abdoulie Bojang, fumed at the performance of his boys noting that they failed to perform as expected.

Abdoulie Bojang further called on his players to be more committed admitting the fact that the club can only achieve success through hard work and commitment.

He still believes Biko will bounce back as the league proceeds.

The Wallidan game against Samger has been postponed to a later date.
