IEC boss to observe Ghana elections

Alhaji Mustapha L Carayol, chairman of the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC), departed Banjul, Tuesday 2nd December 2008, for Accra, Ghana, as part of a mission observing the forthcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in that country.
 
According to a press release from the IEC, Chairman Carayol will be among well-versed people in the realm of elections who have been invited by the chairperson of the African Union to observe the presidential and parliamentary Elections in Ghana.

In the same vein, Robert Anthony Secka, chief electoral officer, Lamin Cham, director of finance, and Pa Makan Khan, regional electoral officer, have also been invited by Ecowas to observe the said elections.

The delegation is expected back in Banjul on December 12th, 2008, the release concluded.
