In Alleged Gold Chain Case, Accused Testifies

One Abdoulie Touray, who is standing trial for allegedly stealing gold chain on 9th September 2009, testified before the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, presided over by Magistrate Bobou Jobe.

Testifying before the court, the accused Abdoulie Touray told the court that he is a resident of Kerr Ardu in Badibou and that he is an electrician. He said he knows the complainant and can recall on 3rd June 2009.

According to him, on the day in question, the complainant asked him to repair her child’s radio and that when he entered the house he met the complainant’s daughter with her friends. He informed the court that after repairing the radio he left, adding that the complainant again called him and told him to fetch water for her which he did.

Further testifying, the accused adduced that the complainant again called him and sent him only to be told on his return that her gold chains was missing, which according to him, he denied any knowledge.
